Free Cancer Screening
Nevada RESEP provides free annual cancer screenings to qualifying “downwinders”, onsite participants, and former uranium workers focusing on the early detection of cancer. In addition to identifying early stages of cancer, this type of screening can also bring to light other health issues that may have gone previously undetected.
The free cancer screening consists of:
A physical exam with one of our licensed physicians: A physical exam may detect early signs of cancer. In addition, a physical exam may show early signs of non-malignant illnesses such as thyroid disease and hypertension. |
A Complete Blood Count (CBC): A CBC may show early signs of blood diseases. |
A urine analysis: A urine analysis may show early signs of kidney and bladder diseases. |
A chest x-ray: A chest x-ray may show early signs of lung diseases and lung cancer. |
REMEMBER: Regular medical screenings offer the best opportunity to catch cancer and other medical problems in the early stages!
