Frequently asked Questions by Department Administrators.

Question:   Where does the salary come from for vacancies within my department?
Answer:   Traditionally the salary would come from salary savings.

Question:   Are there policies regarding recruitment expenditures?
Answer:   Yes the guidelines are available in the Administrative Manual section 2,529. http://www.unr.edu/vpaf/business_finance/forms/uam.pdf  page - 165

Question:   What role do I play in the search process?
Answer:   As the administrator of your department you are required to assist the search coordinator with interview scheduling, account information, be the point of contact for the candidate as relates to moving expenses/transition , office equipment and new-hire paperwork.

Question:   Are their limitations on the number of candidates that can attend a lunch or dinner?
Answer:   Yes you may refer to guidelines for Employee Recruitment Expenses and Entertainment. Question:   Will our office receive copies of the ads and invoices?
Answer:   Yes the search coordinator will e-mail copies of all ad placements when asking for account number to be charged.

Question:   Will the search coordinator keep me informed on the process of search(s) in my department?
Answer:   Yes, bi-weekly a search report is sent to the designated department administrator and the chair of the department as well as when question arise during the search process the administrator is the point of contact.
