The UNSoM Geriatrics Fellowship is currently accepting applications for 2 fellowship training positions:  a one-year ACGME-accredited clinical geriatrics fellowship with no in-house call duties.  This fellowship is suitable for graduating residents in both internal medicine and family medicine.

The program offers advanced training and mentoring in geriatric medicine, with added focus in:

We foster close faculty and program director interactions to provide in depth mentoring.

Training sites include the Ioannis Lougaris Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Renown Medical Center, and Circle of Life Hospice.

The American Board of Internal Medicine now recognizes all Certificates of Added Qualifications as subspecialties of Internal Medicine. Recertification in geriatric medicine (10 years) after initial certification does not require active maintenance of general internal medicine. For details, see this link

Board eligibility/certification in internal medicine or family medicine is a pre-requisite. As geriatrics is a specialty in need, the fellowship accepts J1 and H1 visa candidates on conditional basis. Contact the program director for more detail. Salary is at the PGY 4 level. Moonlighting is allowed with approval. General duty hours are from 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
