Division of Geriatric Medicine has been awarded the Geriatric Training for Physicians, Dentists, and Behavioral and Mental Health Professionals Grant Program
With Dr. Diane Chau as Project Director. The 2.9 million dollar grant aims to retrain faculty in geriatric medicine with a focus in education, research, administration, and clinical care in a 200 hour CME program over 12 months + stipend. Eligible faculty include dental, medical, and behavioral/mental health. Please contact Dr. Chau for additional information or application.

Faculty Scholar Award
Dr. Diane Chau, Program Director of the Geriatrics Fellowship, was awarded the 2009 faculty scholar award at the Scholars in Aging Ceremony. Recipients must display distinguished leadership and active engagement in the advancement of geriatrics and gerontology. The Scholars in Aging Recognition Ceremony was held May 4, in the Joseph Crowley Student Union Ballroom. The event was a sponsored by the Sanford Center for Aging and the Gerontology Academic Program.

Dr. Diane Chau, Awarded the ADGAP Hartford Leadership Scholar 2007-2009, and HRSA Geriatric Academic Career Award continuation for 2010.

Dr. Neila Shumaker receives a Hospice & Palliative care Veteran Affairs development grant for VA HPM program 2009 - 2011.
