VISITING STUDENTS Welcome to the webpage for visiting students. We offer many exciting elective opportunities and we look forward to working with you. Please note that third year clerkship rotations are available only to University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM) students. Because our required clerkship rotations depend heavily on the specific educational curriculum during the first two years, we cannot in fairness carry out the detailed curriculum comparison required to ensure all students enter with the same knowledge base. For more information please click here. Our elective course catalog is available at http://www.unr.edu/med/dept/ome/electives.asp. Please note that there are a few electives not available to visiting students; these are clearly identified as such in the catalog. Visiting students may be accepted for up to eight weeks of fourth year electives. Applications for fourth year elective rotations will only be accepted from medical students in good standing who have completed their first three years at an LCME accredited medical school or an AOA accredited osteopathic school in the U.S. or Canada. Applications will be accepted by the Office of Medical Education after May 15 after UNSOM student requests are filled.
To be considered for elective rotations, all visiting students must provide the following documentation:
