Welcome. The Pharmacology Department is located within the Medical School at the north end of the University of Nevada, Reno campus which is in the foothills of the eastern Sierra. The Department is committed to excellence in both teaching and research. Major topics of research within the Pharmacology Department include:

- Biophysics and Molecular Biology of Ion Channels
- Biochemistry and Biophysics of Skeletal and Cardiac Muscle Cells
- Cellular and Molecular Neuropharmacology
- Vascular Wall Cell Biology
- Cell Physiology and Molecular Biology of Smooth Muscle Contraction and Motility

Faculty of the Department of Pharmacology participate in several interdisciplinary graduate programs, including the the Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and Physiology Graduate Program (CMPP), the Cell and Molecular Biology Program(CMB), and the Biomedical Engineering Program (BME).
