UNSOM Prospective Applicants: Opportunities for Minority Students

An important part of the School of Medicine's mission is training physicians for the growing patient populations in Nevada. Nevada is home to fast-growing communities of Hispanics, African-American's and Native Americans, as well as other groups. Students from these groups, considered underrepresented in medicine, are encourage to apply to UNSOM and to take advantage of outreach programs.

The school offers residential pre-medical student programs, Nevadans Into Medicine, information sessions each fall semester, physician shadowing programs and a day-long pre med student conference.
