Welcome to your final year of medical school! This year is a time to decide upon specialty, choose to take elective courses in the medicine you are interested in exploring, travel to other medical schools or out of the country for learning experiences, interview for residency, learn where you'll be for the rest of your training and, finally, graduate.

Scheduling Your 4th Year

• Office of Medicine Education 4th year Scheduling InformationYear IV consists of student-selected electves. The only required course is the Advanced Clinical Experience in Rural Healthcare.
• Elective Course Listing
• The Office of Medical Education offers a Year IV planning workshop in January for third year medical students.
• Applying to Out-of-State Electives - The Office of Student Affairs, Reno and Las Vegas, assists students applying for away electives at medical schools throughout the US.
