UNSOM Students: Student Life: The Match: General Information
The Match is the process and the celebration of medical students applying and being selected for a residency training program after graduating from medical school. Nevada students begin this process in their fourth year of school. The process includes an on-line application process called Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS), traveling and interviewing at residency programs across the country, rank ordering their list of residency programs and learning of their 'match' the third Thursday in March. Celebrations are held on the main Reno campus and on the clinical campus in Las Vegas.

NRMP Charting Outcomes in the Match
The first edition of the National Resident Matching Program's (NRMP) Charting Outcomes in the Match was published in July 2006 in response to requests from students and their advisors for data casting some light on how applicant qualifications affect match success. Since then, the information has broadened to include more specialties, several new measures, and regression analyses to predict match success.
