Counselors and teachers are the first people students often turn to for information on careers in medicine and science. Nevada is consistently one of the top five states with population growth in all age groups for over the past decade. This means our state needs more physicians and other health professionals. You can help UNSOM "grow" our own physicians and health professionals by encouraging students to consider a career as a physician or scientist or other health professional.

What you can do:

• High School
• K-6 Lesson Plans
• Science Partners
• Encourage your students to take as much English, Science and Math as they can.
• Encourage students to take the most advanced English, Science and Math they can.
• Help students find opportunities to explore medical careers through volunteer programs.
• Learn about UNSOM's summer science and medical careers programs: High School Medical Scholars and Summer of Discovery.
• Learn more about opportunities in medical careers.
• School of Medicine tours on the Reno campus.
• Learn more about our BS-MD Accelerated Admission Program
