Carol began an advertising career in Los Angeles in 1966 at Pacific Outdoor Adv.  After nine years at POA, she went on to hold positions with J. Walter Thompson, ABC Television Network and Outdoor Services, prior to moving to Reno in 1980.

In Reno, Carol was half owner of and assisted in launching Sierra Outdoor, Inc., an outdoor advertising company.  In January, 1992, she began working with Cable Adnet (most recently known as Charter Media), a cable television advertising company, where she served as Senior Account Executive until September 2002. Carol then immediately joined Property Specialists, Inc., as a Right-of-Way Consultant where, among other things, assisted in relocating over ninety families/persons from motel rooms and apartments in the Reno area. 

In October 2004, the opportunity arose for Carol to work with a previous advertising colleague and joined his full service advertising agency, E Media Ad Group, as an account executive, where she remained through April, 2007. 

While still working at E Media, in January, 2006, Carol began working on a part-time basis at the University of Nevada Reno, School of Medicine, in the School of Pharmacy Planning Office.  In May, 2007, she added another part-time position at UNR with the School of Medicine’s Office of Faculty Affairs and Development.  She is currently working solely for the Office of Faculty Affairs & Development as Administrative Assistant IV.

Outside of working, Carol has served on the Board of Directors of Reno Women in Advertising, the American Marketing Associaton, and served as President of the Reno Ad Club. 

Carol has two step-children, is an avid golfer and is married to Mike Mitchell, Director of Golf at Sierra Sage Golf Course.
