Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC):
The Association of American Medical Colleges is a nonprofit association of medical schools, teaching hospitals, and academic societies. The AAMC seeks to improve the nation's health by enhancing the effectiveness of academic medicine.The AAMC assists academic medicine's institutions, organizations, and individuals in three main mission areas:
- Medical Education
Educating the physician and medical scientist workforce
- Medical Research
Discovering new medical knowledge. Developing innovative technologies for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease
- Patient Care
Providing health care services in academic settings

Group on Faculty Affairs(GFA):
The GFA's mission is to build and sustain faculty vitality in medical schools and teaching hospital. The GFA does this by supporting faculty affairs deans and administrators in their development and implementation of institutional policies and professional development activities that advance the academic missions of teaching, research, and clinical care.
Group on Faculty Practice:
GFP website gives easy access to information of interest to GFP members, including links to relevant pages on the public AAMC Web site, AAMC private sites, and other Web sites. Documents of interest to GFP members that are not available to the public can also be found here. Documents accessible on this site conform to the AAMC's confidentiality and access policies.
Group on Educational Affairs:
The purpose of the GEA is to promote excellence in the education of physicians throughout their professional lives and, thereby, to contribute to improving the health of the public. The GEA is staffed by AAMC staff designated by the AAMC President, currently within the Division of Medical Education, and is governed by the elected members of the National Steering Committee.GEA is open to individuals with professional responsibility in medical student, resident, and continuing medical education, designated by deans, hospital directors, or academic societies. The GEA national meeting is held each fall in conjunction with the AAMC Annual Meeting, and offers teaching and learning opportunities to all medical education constituents. The program includes Mini-Workshops, Small Group Discussions and plenary sessions. The GEA's Research in Medical Education (RIME) Conference, also held in conjunction with the AAMC Annual Meeting, includes research papers, symposia and abstract sessions
Women in Medicine:
The AAMC's Women in Medicine program assists dean's offices, Women Liaison Officers (WLOs), and individual faculty members in addressing gender-related inequities and improving the pathways for women to contribute fully to academic medicine.
