During 2008, the Bariatric Outcomes Longitudinal Database (BOLD) will be implemented through the Division of Bariatric Surgery, in conjunction with the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.  The purpose of this database is to monitor the outcomes and progress of surgical weight loss patients over time. 

The BOLD data collection system is part of the national regulatory process, developed by the Surgical Review Corporation, which designates hospitals for becoming bariatric surgery Centers of Excellence.
