First annual Donate Life Walk for Awareness

Walk held Saturday, April 19 at Sparks Marina

WHAT:     Raise awareness about the importance of organ and tissue donation and help Team Nevada gear up for the 2008 U.S. Transplant Games by participating in the first annual Donate Life Walk for Awareness on Saturday, April 19 at the Sparks Marina. The two-mile fun walk, which will also feature live music, is hosted by the University of Nevada School of Medicine Organ Donor Program, Team Nevada, the Transplant Network and Sierra Nevada Tissue Bank.


     The individual registration fee is $25 while groups of 10 or more people may register for $15 per person. Each participant will receive a t-shirt, goody bag and raffle ticket. There will be many great raffle items including a Lemond Spin Bike valued at $1,250. Proceeds from the walk will be donated to Team Nevada to aid in their participation at the U.S. Transplant Games to take place in Pittsburgh, PA in July.
