Daniel Goodenberger, M.D. appointed to Nevada Academy of Health |
Academy to provide healthcare recommendations to Governor and Legislature |

LAS VEGAS, Nev.—Daniel Goodenberger, M.D., University of Nevada School of Medicine professor and chair of the Department of Internal Medicine in Las Vegas, has been appointed to the Nevada Academy of Health by Governor Jim Gibbons.
The Academy will also provide assistance and technical expertise that will be used to improve healthcare in Nevada and secure advice and recommendations from consumers as well as experts in the field. Goodenberger is one of six Governor appointees that sit on the 14 member Academy. He is a clinical pulmonologist who joined the School of Medicine in 2006. Previously Goodenberger served for 18 years at Washington University in St. Louis as professor of medicine and chief of the Division of Medical Education. He was medical director of the Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia Center and an expert in breathing disorders associated with neuromuscular disorders like ALS and muscular dystrophy. Goodenberger previously directed the internal medicine residency program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, medical student training in internal medicine, and physician continuing medical education. A native of Nebraska, Goodenberger trained in internal medicine at Harvard at the Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. From 1982 to 1985, he served as assistant professor of medicine and education director in the emergency department at Georgetown University Hospital. |
