John Gosche, M.D., Ph.D. joins the School of Medicine

department of pediatrics as chief of pediatric surgery

 

LAS VEGAS, Nev.—John Gosche, M.D., Ph.D. has joined the University of Nevada School of Medicine department of pediatrics in Las Vegas as a full professor and chief of the division of pediatric surgery.  Boasting an impressive academic and professional background, Gosche is one of only a handful of pediatric surgeons in the state.

 

Gosche comes to Nevada from Mississippi where he served as an associate professor of surgery and physiology and biophysics as well as an assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  Additionally, he served as chief of the division of pediatric surgery.  From 1994 to 2001, Gosche taught surgery and pediatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine.  He first served as an assistant professor of surgery and pediatrics and was later promoted to the status of associate professor.

Gosche has published numerous academic publications, reviews, and books and is certified in general surgery and pediatric surgery by the American Board of Surgery.  He received his postgraduate training as an intern and resident in general surgery at the University of Louisville and was a fellow of pediatric surgery at Columbus Children’s Hospital at Ohio State University.   Gosche earned his doctorate in cardiovascular physiology from the University of Louisville and his M.D. from the University of South Florida College of Medicine.  He earned his bachelor of arts degree in biology and chemistry from the University of South Florida in Tampa.
