RENO, Nev.—Scott Hall, M.D. joins the University of Nevada School of Medicine family medicine department in Reno as an assistant professor and director of sports medicine. Boasting an impressive academic background, Hall joins the School of Medicine faculty as the only primary care sports medicine specialist in Northern Nevada.
Prior to joining the School of Medicine, Hall served as a family physician with Renown Health Systems in Reno. From 2005 to 2006, he served as the house officer for two hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio while simultaneously completing his fellowship in sports medicine in Columbus.
“We are excited to have Dr. Hall join our faculty,” says Daniel Spogen, M.D., professor and chair of the Department of Family Medicine. “His specialty in sports medicine is a great addition to our community and we are looking forward to the inaugural year of our sports medicine fellowship in Reno which will commence next July.”
Hall has a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Sports Medicine and has been published in several academic publications. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians as well as the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency training at Grant Family Medicine in Columbus where he served as chief resident from 2004 to 2005. He earned his M.D. from The Ohio State University in 2002 and received his bachelor of science degree from Brigham Young University in 1998. He has wide experience serving as a physician for many professional, academic and independent sports teams as well as athletic events and currently serves as a team physician for Damonte Ranch High School in Reno.
