Dr. Michael Stein named Interim Chairman for Internal Medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine

Las Vegas, Nev.—Michael Stein, M.D., has been named interim chairman for the department of internal medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine.

Stein, an honors graduate of Yale University, attended Stanford University School of Medicine. While there he continued his research and teaching while serving as an assistant educator for the cardiovascular physiology class and a volunteer instructor for the clinical problem-solving course. He completed his medical scholar’s thesis in the department of pediatric infectious diseases. His research in VZV wild-type and vaccine strains in SCID-hu mice was published in J. Virol.

Stein completed his medical residency in the internal medicine primary care track at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, receiving his board certification in internal medicine in 2001. He and his wife Andrea, a registered nurse, are the parents of two boys, Aiden, 3, and Alec, 2.
