AHCPR, of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the lead agency charged with supporting research designed to improve the quality of health care, reduce its cost, and broaden access to essential services. AHCPR's broad programs of research bring practical, science-based information to medical practitioners and to consumers and other health care purchasers.

AUTM® - The Association of University Technology Managers is a nonprofit association of 2100+ professionals who obtain and manage intellectual property resulting from research at universities, nonprofit research institutions, and teaching hospitals worldwide. Clinmark is a virtual resource for the clinical research community. By registering with Clinmark, names of investigators and identification of their research interests are made available electronically to industries who develop pharmaceutical, biotechnological, medical device and diagnostic products. Investigators and clinicians have the immediate right of refusal for any forms of support. Investigators are cross-listed so that PIs can search for other unknown investigators who have compatible research interests. There is no fee to register, or for accepting support. The most comprehensive source of funding information available on the Web, with more than 23,000 records, representing over 400,000 funding opportunities, worth over $33 billion.

FEDIX provides free and instant access to information on research and education grants, programs, contracts, etc.

GrantsNet is a new searchable database of funding opportunities for training in the biological and medical sciences. The American Association for the Advancement of Science and Howard Hughes Medical Institute have teamed up to create this new searchable database of biomedical funding options which is geared toward scientists in training -- graduate students, postdocs, and junior faculty members.

MOLIS is a free online database of information regrading the research and educational capabilities of minority serving institutions.

The Foundation Center collects, organizes, analyzes, and disseminates information on foundations, corporate giving, and related subjects. The audiences that call on the Center's resources include grantseekers, grantmakers, researchers, policymakers, the media, and the

ScienceWise Alert delivers research and education opportunities from 17 major federal agencies and from hundreds of corporations, foundations and associations.

NCURA (National Council of University Research Administrators) is a site that lists a number of excellent databases to search for grants including FedWorld where you can search multiple databases simultaneously.

TRAM is a free retrieval service that is collected and updated daily from various sources.
