RESIDENCY CURRICULUM


The UNSOM PRP Curriculum is designed to provide broad-based training in General Pediatrics. The plan is undergoing continuous quality improvement and revision to optimize the resources and opportunities available to our residents. The curriculum for the 2007-2008 academic year is outlined below (all rotations are 1 month blocks):

PL-I Year:
UMC Ward (2 months)

Sunrise Ward (2 months)

UMC Newborn Intensive Care Unit

Sunrise Newborn Intensive Care Unit

UMC Pediatric Emergency Department

Pediatric Outpatient Clinic (1 months)

Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics

Nursery/Outpatient Clinic (2 months)

Pediatric Surgery

one week vacation each from Developmental/ Behavioral, outpatient clinic and pediatric surgery months

PL-II Year:

UMC Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

Sunrise Pediatric Intensive Care Unit

UMC Night Float

* Four of the eight elective months must be in board-certified pediatric subspecialties
