DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY LAS VEGAS: NEVADA

Nevada is one of the fastest growing states in the nation. Easy air transportation is available from most worldwide destinations. While famous for its nightlife, Las Vegas also offers theatre, music and dance companies, including the nationally recognized Nevada Dance Theatre. Several museums, art galleries, and libraries also contribute to cultural opportunities in Las Vegas. The community offers many varieties of outdoor recreation at nearby Mount Charleston, Red Rock Canyon, Valley of Fire and Lake Mead. In addition, Hoover Dam is just a short drive from Las Vegas. Low humidity and 310 days of sunshine each year create an ideal outdoor environment. The Clark County School District is one of the largest in the United States and has implemented a wide range of programs in order to meet its students’ needs. In Las Vegas, medicine is growing with the community. The large population base, in addition to the millions of visitors and citizens of nearby communities offers an ideal environment to practice medicine following residency.
