Hand and Microsurgery


The University of Nevada School of Medicine supports a one-year Fellowship in Hand & Microsurgery. The microsurgical experience covers a full spectrum of procedures including Head & Neck, Breast, Upper/Lower Extremity traumatic & extirpative reconstruction, and Replantation. Training is completed at the University Medical Center, Nevada’s only Level 1 Trauma Center, only Replantation facility, and the only institution performing microsurgical cancer reconstruction in Las Vegas.  This Fellowship also includes a significant exposure to both autologous and implant-based complex breast reconstruction as well as an extensive experience in facial and body aesthetic surgery.  The Fellowship is under the direction of Dr. William Zamboni, MD.

Requirements include completion of an approved residency in Plastic Surgery and that the candidates be BC/BE. Candidates must also qualify for Nevada licensure and malpractice coverage. In addition to clinical excellence, a documented commitment to academic excellence is essential.

The position includes appointment as a Junior Attending / Clinical Instructor and the candidate will have the opportunity for independent operating privileges.  Duties include active clinical participation on the plastic surgery service, student and resident teaching, and the opportunity for basic science as well as clinical research, all within the global mission of developing and expanding the program in its clinical and academic spheres. The position is located in Las Vegas with a competitive salary and benefits.
