Dr. Peterson was a tenured associate professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the University of Nevada School of Medicine from 1978 to 2004. She taught medical students at all levels (four years) and interns and residents in Pediatrics and Family Medicine. She now conducts a clinical practice in Reno NV. Dr. Peterson works with children suffering from acute and chronic illness with a specialty in childhood encopresis/eneresis; attention deficit disorder, diabetes, asthma, and pain of unknown origin. Her clinical area of expertise is post traumatic stress disorder, resulting from sexual, physical and emotional abuse. She has had a forensic practice for 30 years and is certified in mediation, collaborative divorce and custody evaluation. She is associated with the National Trauma and Loss Center and the International Association of Forensic Medicine. She has given numerous workshops nationally and internationally, including Behavior Analysis; Child Art Interpretation, Collaborative Divorce, Intensive Journaling and Feng Shui.
