Doina Kulick, M.D., M.S., F.A.C.P. Associate Professor and Director of the Wellness and Weight Management Clinic

Dr. Doina Kulick is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nutrition. Her clinical interests include weight management, dysmetabolic syndrome, and prevention and treatment of chronic diseases through dietary interventions. Doctor Kulick’s approach to patient care is to integrate the latest clinical research discoveries with the patients’ personal goals and values. She is actively involved in both patient care and clinical research. She has a Master’s in Clinical Research and is Principal Investigator on several clinical research studies regarding the effect of nutrition on chronic diseases.



David Howard, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Department of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism

Dr. Howard is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. He is actively engaged in patient care and clinical research trials. He also has his doctorate in Environmental Toxicology.










Maureen Molini-Blandford, MPH, RD, CSSD, Clinical Dietitian, HMR® Health Educator

Ms. Molini-Blandford is a faculty member in the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She trained at the University of Nevada, Reno in both biology and nutrition. She holds a Certificate of Specialized Training in Adult and Pediatric Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association (ADA) and has also earned her Board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics from the ADA. In 2009, Maureen was awarded Nevada Young Dietitian of the Year. Ms. Molini-Blandford currently oversees clinical operations at WWM and works as a nutrition counselor, HMR® Health Educator and HMR® Program Coordinator. She is passionate about the power of nutrition and weight management in helping clients achieve good health and a high quality of life.



Karmella Thomas, RD, CDE, Clinical Dietitian, HMR Health Educator

Ms. Thomas is a faculty member in the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She trained at University of Nevada, Reno, in both biology and nutrition. She has a certificate of Specialized Training in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association. She also earned the Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential in June 2012 and currently works with the Project ECHO team as the lead dietitian, consulting with the tele-health team to assist primary care providers in rural settings regarding complex diabetes and cardiovascular conditions. Ms. Thomas also is a nutrition counselor and HMR Health Educator. She practices as a clinical dietitian with an emphasis on weight loss, diabetes management, and chronic disease. Ms. Thomas also assists in coordinating research efforts at the clinic.






Aimee L. Brock, RD, Clinical Dietitian, HMR Health Educator

Ms. Brock is a faculty member in the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She trained at University of Nevada, Reno, in nutrition. She has a certificate of Specialized Training in Adult Weight Management from the American Dietetic Association. Ms. Brock is currently a nutrition counselor and HMR Health Educator. She practices as a clinical dietitian with an emphasis on weight loss and preventative care.






Sharon E. Mattheisen, RD, Clinical Dietitian

Ms. Mattheisen is a faculty member in the University of Nevada School of Medicine. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. She completed her dietetic internship training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. Ms. Mattheisen is currently a nutrition counselor. She practices as a clinical dietitian with an emphasis on wellness and weight loss/maintenance.






Mary Sanders, PhD, RCEP, FACSM, Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist

Dr. Sanders is an Associate Professor at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Adjunct Professor at the School of Public Health. Mary is certified as a Health & Fitness Instructor by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), a continuing education provider for a number of certification organizations, and a fellow of ACSM. Dr. Sanders has been active for over 20 years conducting research and developing curriculums in exercise sciences & leadership while training instructors and publishing internationally. She currently conducts individualized activity assessments for patients in WWM wellness and weight loss programs.




Tyisha Martinez, Front Office Specialist

Ms. Martinez has been a front office specialist with University Health System since 2007. She assists with coordinating front office administrative activities.





Bree Clemmer, BS

Ms. Clemmer trained at the University of Nevada, Reno in both biology and nutrition. She oversees the HMR at Home program and assists with coordinating front office administrative activities.
